  • Living Homes, Plant Prefab's series of prefab homes, are designed to be energy efficient, sustainable and healthy for both homeowners and the planet. Among his designs we find a wide range of options created by novice or established architects, among which we can include Ray Kappe, Yves Béhar, Kieran Timberlake and Koto. Styles range from a farmhouse-style structure to a modernist townhouse. In addition, Plant Prefab offers the possibility of personalized design for those who bet on the most absolute exclusivity.

The model we are talking about here is the LivingHome 10 and it was presented at Modernism Week 2020, earlier that year. At just 47 m2, this impeccably designed home can serve as both a main home and an auxiliary unit. All kitchen, bathroom, electrical and mechanical systems are contained within this single 'core' module, facilitating quick and easy connection.

The home was shipped to the event complete with all interior finishes, appliances, and exterior siding. Thanks to the ease of assembly, it could be installed quickly and easily.

Among its many add-ons and accessories, it features stylish built-in elements in the living room, which are available as upgrades, as well as smart home technology enabled by Amazon Alexa, which comes standard in all LivingHomes. The unit was designed for Modernism Week by Sarah Rosenhaus Interior Design, with furnishings from Blu Dot and Pelago Palm Springs.

    Smart Home powered by Amazon

All Plant Prefab models are designed from a sustainability-based perspective and include exciting technologies to make them a smart home that, among other things, enables energy monitoring. For this reason, it includes the standard Living SmartHome package, which focuses on Amazon's Alexa ecosystem, something that is explained by the investment that the large technology company made in this company in 2018. Pre-installed in each LivingHomes home is an Eero system Mesh Wi-Fi that guarantees connectivity throughout the home, an Amazon Echo Dot speaker and an Echo Show 5 smart screen with touch and voice control to manage home automation devices.

An Ecobee smart thermostat manages the HVAC system using room sensors that measure temperature and occupancy, and a Lutron system keeps your lighting running. A Schlage Encode video doorbell and door lock ensure security and access via an app, and a Sense energy monitoring system tracks energy usage.

An upgrade to the entertainment package includes Sonos speakers and an Amazon Fire TV Cube for voice control of the TV. A security package upgrade with a doorbell alarm and adhesive ring camera can be used indoors or outdoors. By balancing comfort, control, connectivity, and smart power management, LivingHomes offers a complete yet easy-to-use smart home package. Devices from almost all brands seamlessly interact with the Alexa smartphone app to provide a central place to manage your home and the option to control everything with your voice.

Additionally, the Sense Energy Monitor adds a deeper layer of connectivity and control, linking with Energy Star appliances to help the homeowner manage and monitor the home's energy use.
